It’s Lilac Time in Lombard!
This is the time of year when the Lilac Village really lives up to its name. Lilacia Park is absolutely abloom right now, and the scent of the lilacs is just intoxicating.
Starting this Saturday through Sunday, May 19, Lombard will be celebrating its legendary lilacs with a long list of special events, from the historic coronation of the Lilac Queen to a Mother’s Day concert in Lilacia Park (featuring Rosie & The Rivets.) And you won’t want to miss the Mutt Strut 5K & 1-Mile race. (You can find a full calendar of events for Lilac Time here.)
I hope you will make time to visit the Lilac Time Arts and Craft Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Sunday, May 5, in Downtown Lombard on St. Charles Road between Main and Elizabeth streets.
The Lombard Park District’s “Bloom-o-Meter” says the lilacs are fully blooming, so don’t wait to head over to Lilacia Park and see these glorious flowers.
