It feels like summer is just racing past us. After what seems like about five minutes, we’re already saying farewell to our interns. It’s been great having these talented young people in our office and out in our neighborhoods, knocking on doors and meeting some of our constituents.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes positive police-community partnerships. Every year during the first week in August, communities throughout our district and across the country host events to enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement.

I am constantly amazed by the evolution of our public libraries. Today, our libraries serve as true centers for our communities, providing services and programs that we could not have imagined when we were children getting our very first library cards.
